The Walk

Our major community event held annually is the Gift of Life Walk, sponsored by the Government’s Organ and Tissue Authority and the ACT Government.  

It was held for the 15th time in 2021 and is now a major Canberra event.  The Walk traditionally attracts thousands of participants from a range of backgrounds, walking across the bridges and around Lake Burley Griffin, early on a summer’s morning, wearing our free t-shirts and hats and afterwards enjoying a BBQ breakfast.

In 2021 our Walk went virtual and, for the first time, participants from across Australia organised their own walks, took photos and uploaded images and videos to our website and social media. 

In 2022, we are aiming for a greater reach nationally especially among schools, sporting clubs and community groups. Take the next step and sign up for the 2022 Annual Gift of Life Walk.
