DonateLife Week 2015

This is a reminder that national DonateLife Week is being held this year from Sunday 2 August – Sunday 9 August next to promote organ and tissue.

All around the country Australians are being encouraged to make the time to “have the chat that saves lives”. In this regard, families play a crucial role in the donation process because they are asked to support the donation decision of their loved one.

Therefore it’s important to know what they want. During DonateLife Week all Australians are encouraged to discover the facts, decide and register your donation decision and discuss and know the donation decisions of your family.

If you feel you would ever be prepared to become a recipient should the need arise, be equally prepared to become a donor.Your generosity by becoming a donor can potentially save many Australian lives.

In the Canberra region, the ABC radio 666 “Mornings” program presented by Genevieve Jacobs will be interviewing leading members of the kidney transplant team from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital around 9.45am on Monday 3 August and Wednesday 5 August during DonateLife Week. Listen in to the broadcast and learn more from those directly engaged in kidney transplantation in one of the main Sydney hospitals servicing the needs of those in the Canberra and southern NSW region. Gift of Life has assisted with arranging the interviews and is a DonateLife partner
